At St Michael's as a part of our R.E curriculum we are following a resource called Magister. The resource is modern, engaging and creative, as well as presenting a Catholic world view. The content found in Magister is split into 6 branches as suggested in the Religious Education Directory- to love you more dearly, also known as the RED. The branches cover the following content:

Branch 1 - Creation to Covenant

In branch 1 the children will explore the Christian belief that all that is comes from God and  the call of God and his covenantal relationship with his people. 

Branch 2 - Prophecy to Promise

In branch 2, the children will explore the expectant waiting for the Messiah through the Advent season and how this speaks to Christians today as they wait for Christ. 

Branch 3 - Galilee to Jerusalem

In branch 3, the children will learn about the life of Jesus and his revelation of the Kingdom of God through parables, encounters, miracles, and teachings. 

Branch 4 - Desert to Garden

In branch 4, the children will study the season of Lent and its culmination in the events of Holy Week. 

Branch 5 - To the ends of the earth

In branch 5, the children will study the events that flowed from the Resurrection and Ascension in the coming of the Holy Spirit and the work of the apostles and early Church.

Branch 6 - Dialogue and encounter

In branch 6, the children will learn how Christians work together with people of different religious convictions towards the common good, respecting the dignity of all humanity. They will also encounter other pathways of belief.
